If the tempera technique is specific to wood (and used in restoration or in contemporary paintings), that of mixing (acrylic or oil) allows to gild a very wide range of surfaces.

This is the case of resin, plexiglass, stone, ceramic, seashells, textiles, skin (for ephemeral tattoos), plants, glass , plaster , paper , a wall ...
